Success at AAOS: METRC Research Highlighted in New Orleans
OTA Specialty Day was held on March 6, 2026, at the AAOS Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA. This event serves as a platform for presenting recent research, best evidence, new techniques, and debating best practices aimed to educate the general orthopaedic surgeon in the management of musculoskeletal trauma and complications. METRC's participation and its showcased work made a strong impression at the conference. One of the conference sessions included presentations of the OTA "Chairs Choice" papers from the 2025, including the results from the TOBRA study (presented by Dr. Robert O'Toole) and the Bovill Award winning paper from the Weight Bearing study (presented by Dr. William Obremskey. METRC investigators Dr. Leah Gitajn and Dr. Lucas Marchand also presented work.
Another conference session titled, "Papers You Should Know About - This RCT Changed My Practice" was well represented by METRC. This session highlighted four of METRC's most impactful studies to date, including: FIXIT, POvIV, Prevent Clot, and VANCO.
Thank you to the investigators who did a great job representing METRC at this year's OTA Specialty Day and to everyone that has contributed to the highlighted studies!
